About Leah

Hi, I am Leah Henderson, LMFT, MA

My approach is grounded in a psychodynamic framework that incorporates Attachment Theory and integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Together, we explore how your early experiences, relationships, and core beliefs have shaped the ways you think, feel, and connect with yourself and others.

I believe that lasting change begins with self-awareness, but insight alone is not always enough. Many of us understand why we struggle, yet continue to feel trapped in familiar patterns. In therapy, we work together to identify these patterns, understand the underlying attachment needs and core wounds driving them, and develop new ways of relating that feel more authentic and aligned with your values.

My goal is to help you cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your relationships, and feel empowered to rewrite the narratives that no longer serve you. Through this process, you can experience greater emotional freedom, resilience, and fulfillment in both your personal life and your relationships.

I have had the privilege of working with youth, teens, families, couples, and individuals, and I welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds. I offer in-person sessions in Marin County and telehealth appointments throughout California.

Who I Work With

I offer individual, couples, and family therapy for clients across the lifespan, from children and teens to adults navigating all that life brings. Sessions are 50 minutes and can be weekly or every other week depending on your needs.

Youth and teen therapy

Youth and Teens

Growing up is hard. I create a safe, judgment-free space where young people can explore what they are feeling, build coping skills, and begin to understand themselves more fully. I work with children and adolescents on anxiety, identity, family stress, school pressure, and more.

Family therapy

Families

Family relationships are some of the most formative and sometimes the most complicated of our lives. Whether you are navigating conflict, a major transition, or patterns that are not working, family therapy helps everyone feel heard and opens the door to real change.

Individual therapy

Individuals

Individual therapy offers a space that is entirely yours to process, reflect, and grow. I work with adults across all life stages on anxiety and depression, life transitions, grief, chronic pain, and the everyday weight of being human.

Couples therapy

Couples

Even strong relationships hit rough patches. In couples therapy we slow things down, look at what is underneath the conflict, and build new ways of communicating and connecting. I work with couples at all stages, from dating to long-term partnership.

Many PPO plans cover a portion of the cost. I encourage you to call your insurer and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

A sliding scale is available for those with financial need. Please reach out to discuss.

Good Faith Estimate: Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before your first session. You can request one at any time by contacting me directly.
